After a break this summer -because of the heat- the work is now in progress since monday.

From the 5th of April to the 5th of May, the work done is very impressive. 30 000 m3 of sand have been removed (instead of the expected 20 000 m3).
Du 5 avril au 5 mai, un travail énorme a été réalisé. 30 000 m3 de sable ont été déplacés (Au lieu des 20 000 m3 prévus).

Good news today : the film set is now safe for years till the barkhane (big dune) has been moved 500 meters away from the site. The step two of the campaign is finished!

The Star Wars film set has been damaged by the sand. This thursday we will go to Mos Espa with Mr Taieb Jellouli and the Stars Wars Tunisia Team to estimate the work to do.
Après de désensablement du site, le constat est inquiétant, une partie des décors est partiellement détruite et le reste est endommagé. Un voyage à Mos Espa est programmé ce jeudi, avec Taieb Jellouli et l’équipe de Star Wars Tunisia pour faire un état des lieux.
After two weeks of hard work (few days off, because of the wind) the set of Mos Espa is almost cleaned from the sand. Now the barkhane (big moving dune) has to be moved away…
